NAME

man.conf — manual directories

DESCRIPTION

The file /etc/man.conf tells man(1) where to look for manual pages. Each line is a directive and its argument; empty lines and lines starting with ‘#’ are ignored.

manpath directory

Search directory, which holds man1, man2 and so on. Directories are searched in the order given.

output option [value]

Accepted for compatibility with mandoc(1); ignored.

Without a manpath line the directories are /usr/share/man and /usr/local/share/man.
